At First Unitarian - This month, we will discuss the 2012-2013 UUA Common Read, The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness by Michelle Alexander. Alexander offers a searing indictment of the notion of colorblindness and uses the criminal justice system as a prime example. The book club meets monthly and discusses a different fiction or non-fiction title at each meeting, always connected to social justice matters. Newcomers are welcome.  For more information, contact Phil Tatro or 860-205-4243.

Logistics committee forming — Are you an “a place for everything and everything in its place” kind of person? Do you love to geek out with spreadsheets? Is your next career as a personal organizer? If so, we need you! The Building Renovation Team is putting together a group of people to work with the staff to manage logistics for the congregation during the upcoming renovation. For instance, this group would manage getting chairs and hymnals moved and set up for the service if it’s going to be in the chapel, or figure out where to store items that need to be moved during construction.
